Background
Andrew (Andy) is a Partner with the firm. Originally from rural Harlan, Andy is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa and Regent University School of Law.
Andy has maintained a general practice since joining the firm in 2005. During his tenure at the firm, he has engaged in juvenile law, tax law, real estate law, estate planning, criminal defense, defense of persons from civil commitments, family law, simple and complex civil litigation, mediation and appellate work. He has also served as outside counsel with the Iowa Attorney Disciplinary Board.
Andy has a passion for the delivery of quality social services for all people. That passion has determined his various voluntary activities over the years, as he has served on a number of non-profit boards in a leadership capacity. He’s also a big fan of the Iowa State Bar Association and the various County Bar Associations that promote collegiality amongst attorneys.
In February, 2020, Governor Kim Reynolds appointed Andy Vice Chair of the Iowa Parole Board. In conjunction with that appointment, Andy has limited time to lawyer and has limited his practice during his appointment term to personal injury cases and mediations.
Andy is the proud father of 10 children. He enjoys leading worship, being with people, being away from people, and nature.
